A new state-of-the-art residence hall
University of the Pacific is building a new state-of-the-art residence hall for second-year students on the site of the former Southwest Hall. The new living and learning community will house nearly 400 students, and will contain three suites for staff and faculty-in-residence. An interior courtyard will provide space for students to socialize, relax and hold events.
This project adds a twelfth residence hall to Pacific’s Stockton Campus. The additional space is greatly needed to accommodate Pacific’s growing residential population. To combat housing shortages and spiraling rents off campus, the university guarantees four years of on-campus housing for all undergraduates while continuing to pull in record enrollment numbers.
To preserve the historic feel of campus, the new building will retain many of the striking design elements of the original century-old building, and similar brick has been chosen from a local supplier. Southwest Hall is slated to open fall 2026.
