Dr. Alice Chan is a respected educator and clinician in pediatric dentistry whose work embodies the Dugoni School’s core values of humanism and service. An alumna of the school, Dr. Chan earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2012 and has since built a career focused on advancing pediatric oral health, education, and equity.

She completed her Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center in San Francisco (2012–2013) and went on to earn her Pediatric Dentistry Certificate at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston (2014–2016), where she served as chief resident. Dr. Chan also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.

Returning to Dugoni with an extraordinary passion for teaching and mentorship, Dr. Chan now leads the pre-doctoral pediatric dentistry curriculum. She oversees multiple courses, clinical programs and student mentorship initiatives, guiding future practitioners with empathy, creativity and academic rigor. Her thoughtful approach has made her one of the most beloved faculty members in the Pediatric Dentistry Department.

Dr. Chan is also a current participant in the UC Davis MIND Institute’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program, where she is expanding her expertise in interdisciplinary care for children with developmental and special health care needs.

Her commitment to service extends beyond the classroom through volunteer work with Give Kids a Smile, TeamSmile, Head Start and Kai Ming programs. A diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an ADEA Emerging Leader, Dr. Chan is recognized nationally as a rising voice in dental education. Her humility, compassion and steadfast dedication to patient-centered care continue to inspire students, colleagues and the broader dental community.
