Audition/Interview Scheduling

Auditions/interviews are scheduled based upon the audition preferences shared through the Conservatory questionnaire.   

When to Arrive/Parking

All undergraduate applicants are encouraged to arrive at 8:30am for check-in prior to a welcome session.  If you are not able to attend or choose not to attend the welcome session, please plan to arrive no less than 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled audition time.  Audition day parking is located in front of Faye Spanos Concert Hall. 

Parking on the Stockton Campus is free on weekends and after 5 pm on weekdays. Audition times are provided a week before the audition date. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 209.946.2418 or email address is fpeterbark@pacific.edu. 

Check-in

Follow signs to Auditions (unless communicated otherwise, check in in the lobby of Buck Hall). We will assign you a warm-up room at least 15 minutes prior to your audition. A current Conservatory of Music student will bring you to both your warm-up room and your audition room at the appropriate times. 

Audition Requirements

 Please make sure you review and prepare the audition requirements for your specific instrument. Please note the additional interview requirement for music education, music composition, music management and music industry studies applicants. 

Accompaniment

Instrumental auditions are unaccompanied. Vocal auditions are accompanied. We will provide an accompanist for all voice applicants auditioning on campus. Students using our accompanist must bring an additional copy of their sheet music. There is no fee for the accompanist. Voice applicants may also choose to bring their own accompanists. 

Rescheduling

 You are allowed to reschedule your audition once, based on availability. If you need to cancel or reschedule your audition, please contact our office at 209.946.2418 or fpeterbark@pacific.edu.

Conservatory Meet and Greet Lunch

The Conservatory is eager to connect with auditionees and their supporter during the audition day. We invite you to join us for a pizza lunch around noon so faculty, staff and current students can meet you, answer any questions you might have and offer further insight into life and opportunities at Pacific. Please confirm your attendance while responding to your audition time confirmation email.

Travel

University of the Pacific is located in Stockton, California. The closest major airport is Sacramento International Airport (SMF), about an hour drive away. Driving from Oakland and San Francisco airports may take 2–3 hours depending on traffic.
