Join University of the Pacific’s Jazz Studies Department for an annual Pacific Jazz Improv Workshop. This hands-on learning experience is for high school and junior college students and music educators who are looking to expand their knowledge of jazz improvisation, theory, listening skills and performing in small ensembles (combos). We welcome all skill levels from beginners to experienced. Our guest artist is New Orleans-based bassist and composer Amina Scott, who will work with students in masterclasses and perform with the Pacific Jazz Ensemble in a closing concert.
