Black History Month health fair connects community to care

Students and faculty from the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and the School of Health Sciences partnered with Progressive Community Church in Stockton to host a community health clinic focused on increasing access to essential health care services as part of University of the Pacific’s Black History Month programming.

More than 100 community members attended the clinic, receiving blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings, along with immunizations. Blood pressure monitors and diabetes testing supplies were also distributed free of charge, giving participants tools to continue managing their health at their convenience.

The clinic not only addressed immediate community health needs but also provided students with meaningful, hands-on experience serving the Stockton community.
