University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law experienced a significant milestone in its continued commitment to student success with a record-setting job placement rates for the Class of 2024.

According to data submitted by the law school to the American Bar Association, 88.36 percent of McGeorge School of Law graduates from the Class of 2024 secured employment within 10 months of graduation, with 89.73 percent employed by March 2025. These figures represent one of the highest employment rates in the school’s history and a testament to the strength of McGeorge’s academic programs, career services, and alumni network.

Even more notably, a McGeorge record 82.2 percent of the students secured positions that the U.S. News & World Report classifies as “best jobs,” i.e., jobs that are full-time, long-term, and are in bar passage-required or JD-advantaged roles.

This year’s results reflect a continued upward trajectory in graduate outcomes. Since 2020, McGeorge’s “best job” placement rate has improved by more than 13 percentage points, and the school’s bar passage rate rose to 69.8 percent, up from 59.8 percent the previous year.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduates and all that they have accomplished. In the face of economic uncertainty, challenges with the administration of the bar exam, and the changing legal landscape, our grads demonstrated perseverance and determination to land jobs in a variety of legal fields. We are excited to see where their futures take them,” said Leah Adams ‘07, Assistant Dean of Students and Career Services.

This achievement reflects McGeorge’s strategic focus on practical training, individualized career support, and strong ties to the legal community in California and beyond. The school continues to be recognized for its excellence in practical training, recently earning an A- ranking for Practical Training in the Spring issue of preLaw magazine — placing McGeorge among the top 45 law schools in the nation. With more than 100 externship opportunities, and seven legal clinics, McGeorge provides students with hands-on skills that give students the needed tools to succeed in their law career.

“These results are a testament to the hard work and ambition of our students, the exemplary legal education and training provides to students at McGeorge, and the hard work of our career services professionals. We are proud to see them launch their legal careers with such strong momentum,” said Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz.
